P O R T R A I T S

Patricia Maurides was a guest artist with the Explorers in 2017, and continues to engage the group in creative projects to this day.  For  Portraits, the group used a collection of silk fabric given to Maurides by her closest friends from their travels and wanderings in India and China. The group created simple sets with the fabrics and studio lights, and played with the materials to match each individual’s preference for color and arrangement.  The conversations along the way in making these photographs are precious moments that continue to shape and inspire the group and their ongoing interactions. PORTRAITS - A pop-up photography exhibition appeared at the Southampton Cultural Center, September 2017.
